No better time than now, to get skilled for hospitality: Dilip Puri

Dilip Puri, Founder & CEO, Indian School of Hospitality (ISH) focused on the empowerment and education of the manpower and how hotels should be working with employees, especially in a ‘no-touch’ scenario that seems to be emerging for the industry, in the second session of Trav Talk Digital Conclave on Hospitality. He said, “There is going to be a massive shift towards now hotels making it mandatory branded online learning for the workforce. If there is anything the industry can do to support their people, it’s to encourage them to build upon this habit and upskill themselves.”

Puri added, “The new normal is going to be so different. I think technology will continue to change our world in different ways. In hotels, we were used to say right high tech leading to high touch, but now we are trying to imagine how high tech would lead to low touch or no touch. I would urge the industry and say that you are not able to engage your people by keeping them in the job and paying them as much as you did, but encourage and invest in them to upskill themselves to meet the challenges of the new normal.”
